The Madman's Daughter popped up in a few articles this week. It was included in the "High Demand Hot List for Youth" for ALA (American Library Association's) BOOKLIST. My friend who is a librarian spotted this and told me about it. Neil Gaiman and Jerry Spinelli, whose latest books are also on the list, are two of my writing idols. It's amazing to have my book on any kind of list with theirs! I met Jerry Spinelli at a HIGHLIGHTS week-long workshop, long before I had an agent, and found his talks to be so encouraging.
I also saw Madman's Daughter mentioned on YALSA's The Hub blog, in the article "The Next Big Thing in Historical Fiction." When I was a teenager, historical fiction was some of my favorite, like the series from Diana Gabaldon and Jean Auel, so I'm very excited to see historical fiction is making a comeback.
And for all of the bloggers who have made The Madman's Daughter their Waiting on Wednesday pick, thanks! It's a thrill to see those each week.
